This section walks through the standard steps to install Kanoa MES into an Ignition Gateway and complete the minimum configuration needed to start using the platform.

Kanoa MES is installed as an **Ignition module** and runs on the Ignition Gateway. These steps assume you have Ignition (with Perspective) available, but Kanoa can be installed on either a fresh Gateway or an existing Ignition system.

Follow the sub-pages in order:

- **[Prepare Ignition Gateway](https://kanoa-software.netlify.app/getting-started/installation/prepare-gateway)**
- **[Configure the Database Connection](https://kanoa-software.netlify.app/getting-started/installation/configure-database)**
- **[Configure the Tag Provider](https://kanoa-software.netlify.app/getting-started/installation/configure-tags)**
- **[Install Modules](https://kanoa-software.netlify.app/getting-started/installation/install-modules)**
- **[Configure Redundancy](https://kanoa-software.netlify.app/getting-started/installation/configure-redundancy)** (redundant Gateway pairs only)
- **[Other Recommended Settings](https://kanoa-software.netlify.app/getting-started/installation/other)**

:::caution
KanoaMES supports sites in multiple timezones, but this requires that both the database and gateway servers **MUST** be set to UTC timezone
to eliminate issues arising from daylight savings.
