# Configure the Tag Provider

Kanoa MES uses a dedicated tag provider named **`Kanoa`** to keep Kanoa MES tags separate from other tags in your Gateway.

### Create the tag provider in the Ignition Gateway

Create a new tag provider with the following settings:

- Type: **Standard**
- Mode: **Realtime**
- Name: **`Kanoa`** (required name)

### Tag Installation and Updates

Whenever you install or restart the `kanoaAPP` module, Kanoa will install or update the required tags and tag UDTs as needed.
