# system.kanoa.inventory.updateUnitOfMeasureField(uomId, field, value, userId)

Updates a single named field on an existing unit of measure (UOM) record identified by `uomId`.
Only one column either `uomCode` or `uomName` may be targeted per call, so changing both attributes on the same UOM requires two calls to this function.
The update is attributed to the user identified by `userId` for audit-trail purposes, and the call reports back how many records were actually modified.

---
### Parameters
**uomId** `Integer`: Id of unit of measure to update<br />
**field** `String`: Valid options are uomCode, uomName<br />
**value** `String`: Value to update to<br />
**userId** `Integer`:Id of the user executing the function<br />

---
### Returns
**# of records modified** `Integer`<br />
**message** `String` None if success<br />

---
### Example
```python
uomId = 14
field = 'uomName'
value = 'Kilogram'
userId = system.kanoa.security.getIDPUserId({'userName': 'SYSTEM'})
recordsModified, message = system.kanoa.inventory.updateUnitOfMeasureField(uomId, field, value, userId)
print recordsModified, message
```
