# Training

Welcome to the Kanoa MES training course. This self-paced training will help you build an MES solution for the CoreForge plant.
Along the way, you'll gain an understanding of the features provided by Kanoa MES and how to use them.

You'll start with a **Kanoa MES overview** of the framework's technical pieces, and then **set up the training gateway**. If you have Docker installed, the [Kanoa Docker template](./2-setup-environment/index.md#quick-start-with-docker) gives you a gateway with Kanoa MES ready to go.

From there, you'll work through **Kanoa Ops Training**, as Kanoa Ops is the foundation for the other product solutions (Quality, Trace, Maintenance, Inventory).
Once you've finished Ops, continue with the product courses you need: **Kanoa Quality**, **Kanoa Trace**, **Kanoa Maintenance** and **Kanoa Inventory**. Take Maintenance before Inventory, because one Inventory lesson issues parts to a Maintenance work order.

## How To Read This Course

Lessons use colored boxes so you can tell at a glance what to do and what to read:

:::action[Hands-on]
Steps for you to carry out in your training gateway or the Ignition Designer. Work through every Hands-on box in order, because later lessons build on what you create here.
:::

:::download
A resource file for the lesson, such as an import file, simulator tags, or a script project. Click the link to save it, then follow the steps that use it.
:::

:::check
A script that checks your work in the training gateway. Open **Show the check script**, copy it with the copy button, paste it into the Ignition Designer Script Console and run it. It lists what's right and what to fix, and changes nothing.
:::

:::info
Background and explanation: why something works the way it does.
:::

:::tip
A shortcut, good practice, or a useful extra you can skip if you're short on time.
:::

:::note
A side detail worth knowing, but not needed to complete the lesson.
:::

:::warning[Warning / Caution]
Something that can trip you up, or an action that's hard to undo or affects the whole gateway, such as permissions or overwriting data. Read it before you continue.

<details>
<summary>Reference Materials: collapsible boxes like this one</summary>

These open the matching page from the product documentation inside the lesson, so you can read the detail without leaving the course. A link at the bottom of each one takes you to the full page.

Knowledge-check questions come at the end of the Kanoa MES Overview, and in a **Test Your Knowledge** section at the end of each product course. Click a question to reveal the answer and a link to where the topic is covered.
