# Kanoa Inventory Training

This section is focused on Kanoa Inventory: the spare parts and consumables that keep CoreForge's machines running. You'll build a parts catalog, set stocking rules for a storeroom, record stock coming in and going out, and link parts to the machines they fit.

| Concept | What it is |
|---|---|
| **Part** | Anything tracked in stock: consumables, critical spares, repairable or serialized components |
| **Inventory location** | Where stock is kept: a storeroom asset in your asset model |
| **Stocking policy** | The rules for one part in one storeroom: min, max, reorder point, safety stock, cycle count |
| **Transaction** | Every stock movement: receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments |
| **Bill of materials** | Which parts belong to an asset or an equipment model |

## Before you start

- Complete [Kanoa Ops Training](../4-training-ops/index.md). Inventory uses the CoreForge asset model.
- [Kanoa Maintenance Training](../6-training-maintenance/index.md) is recommended first. One lesson issues parts to the coolant leak work order you raised there.
- Your gateway needs a Kanoa Inventory license (a trial license is fine).
- Inventory screens are under **Inventory → Parts** and **Configuration → Inventory**.
