Kanoa Ops

Kanoa Ops is the required foundation for any Kanoa MES deployment. It provides the core operational structures and execution workflows needed to run day-to-day manufacturing, while also including the platform capabilities that ship with every Kanoa MES installation.
In Kanoa terms:
- Kanoa MES is the single Ignition module you install on your Gateway.
- Kanoa Ops is a licensed Solution within that module that turns on the operational foundation everything else depends on.
What Kanoa Ops includes
Kanoa Ops combines two things:
1) Platform capabilities (common to all Kanoa MES deployments)
2) Operations Management capabilities (the “Ops” solution set)
Platform capabilities included with Kanoa MES
Kanoa Ops includes the shared platform capabilities that ship with every Kanoa MES deployment. These capabilities are foundational: they support how you configure, secure, navigate, visualize, and extend the system across all Solutions.
| Feature | Description | Reference links |
|---|---|---|
| Security | Role-based security and user management provide controlled access to configuration and execution workflows. | |
| Navigation | Application navigation and UI structure tooling define how users move through Kanoa and how your team can organize plant-specific workflows. | |
| Style | Themes, styling standards, and UI consistency controls help maintain a coherent user experience as you extend screens and workflows. | |
| Dashboards | Dashboarding and reusable visualization components support operational visibility and consistent KPI reporting across lines and sites. | |
| Regions | Translation and multi-language support enable global deployments and plant-specific language requirements. | |
| Schema | A standard asset, material, and work order data model backed by the kanoaCore database provides consistent structures for execution and analysis. | |
| Customizable | Extensible configuration patterns help adapt workflows to your plant while preserving upgradeability, with deeper extensibility available through Ignition when needed. |
Operations management capabilities
Kanoa Ops standardizes how work orders, materials, assets, and operator workflows are represented so teams can scale deployments without reinventing fundamentals.
| Feature | Description | Reference links |
|---|---|---|
| Asset management | Model your plant and production structure so you can execute work consistently and analyze performance by line, cell, or equipment. | |
| Material management | Define items/materials and the master data required to execute production and capture results consistently. | |
| Production order management | Create and execute work orders / production orders to track what was run, where it ran, and what outcomes were produced. | |
| Shift management | Manage shifts and shift rotation patterns so execution and analysis reflect how the plant actually operates. | |
| Operations scheduling | Build and maintain an operations schedule to provide context for execution and analysis (including recurrence and schedule-based workflows). | |
| Production tracking, OEE, and downtime analysis | Capture operational counts and events, code downtime, and analyze performance to drive continuous improvement outcomes. |
Where Ops fits in the Kanoa Solutions stack
Kanoa Ops is the baseline execution layer. When you need additional scope, you can add Solutions that build on Ops:
- Kanoa Trace for genealogy and traceability
- Kanoa Quality for tests, specs, inspections, and forms
